In the Catholic Church, the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony unites a man and a woman in an exclusive and permanent union. The groom and bride are themselves the celebrants of this Sacrament by their free, unconditional, and joyful exchange of vows.
Offered in the presence of their friends and family, and with a Catholic deacon, priest, or bishop as the officiant, these vows allow God to raise up, strengthen, and empower the mutual love and affection that first drew the couple together. The couple are thus united in a sacred and unbreakable bond that will allow them to rely on God and each other through good times and bad, sickness and health, all the days of their lives.
Preparation for this Sacrament must begin at least 9 months prior to the intended date of celebration, according to Diocesan policy.
To begin, please call our parish office at 717-774-5918 and ask to speak with one of our priests.
